The narrator tells us that he's bored at school. He's listening to some songs by a band that's about to break up, so he'd like to go see one of the concerts while he can. The narrator doesn't really know what's going on, though, because he can't figure out how to talk to three other students in class. The teacher is mean to him, and the students are listening to him too, but they're not giving him the feeling that they are giving him their all. He tells the teacher that he has to wait a thousand days before he can pass high school, because there's no one to do anything for him.
