About This Chapter
Back at the hotel, Hirofumi tries to explain what's happened to him. He says that he sprained his knee before he fell in love with Mishima, and that's why he can't play in the team's practice game because of it. He also says that Mishima and the captain had an affair, but that the team couldn1t get back on its feet because of the team1s slump. Hirofumi says he wants to see what life is like without the team. He tells Mishima that things are changing for him, and Mishima is starting to change, too. But, he says, things are going to get back to the way they were before the "do over" . He blames Mishima for being too delicate to be an athlete, and he blames Hirofumi for not being able to handle Mishima well enough as a batter. Mishima blames himself for the whole thing, but Hirofumi points out that it doesn1t matter if he does things over or over again, because life isn1t as important as it used to be. He thinks Mishima looks like he1s in a good mood, and Hirofumi wonders if Mishima1s problems are Mishimas fault.
