In this chapter, the narrator tells us that he's going to learn the school's spirit song, the first and second school spirit songs, and the ten cheers of the baseball team in one night. He's not going to memorize all of it, though, because he doesn't want to be late for class. The narrator also tells us about the other members of the cheer team who aren't there, including the captain, who ran away from class during fifth period.
