She's annoyed that the two of them are having this conversation, but the narrator says that he understands now, and that she'd probably be happy if they were friends. The channel comes on, and imamura says something to the effect of, "I'm not going to be liked any more." Aww. It's like being liked is super-incongruous. . He says that if he ends up back in his old life, three years from now, he'll be dead. If he stays in the world, he says, he won't need to be around anymore.
