This is a locked chapterChapter 3 Ultra-Strength Recruiting!
About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a flashback to three years ago, when the narrator and his friend, Udolpho, were students at the same high school. The narrator is now the captain of the school's radio club, and he and the friend have fallen down a flight of stairs. They are now in the same room as the other students, and the narrator complains to the friend that the club has become too big for his liking. He says that he wishes he could go back to his own time, but that he cannot because of the club's size. He tells the friend to go to the club room and complain to the teacher about the club. The teacher, however, refuses to listen to the girl's complaints, saying that the school does not have many new members yet, and that the girl has joined the club because she wants to be a girl. The girl tells the teacher that she is joining the other girls' club because they are the same color as her, but the teacher tells her that they are different in their skin color. She tells the girl to shout at the top of her lungs as she enters the room, as she did when she first arrived at the school. She says that she does not want to get out of this because she is a girl, but she does want to find a part-time job. She wonders if the girl will be able to keep the club going if she keeps recruiting new members, since she is younger than she was when she arrived.
