In this short scene, we are introduced to a new character, a swordsman named "Dirapek" , who has just won a tournament in which he defeated the "dark horse" of the previous tournament, "Drapek." This new character is a bit of a mystery to the audience, as he is not the same swordsman who defeated Drapek in the last tournament. He is, however, a very different swordsman from the one who defeated him in the first tournament. The new character's name is "Swagger," and he tells us that he has seen a lot of rumbles in his life, but this is the first time he's seen "a crowd surge rumble" in a battle. He tells us, "I know several test-takers who have the exact same record as my own . . and there are three towns nearby ." The three towns are "level 3" and "level 4" , and the test-taker who wins the tournament is "level unlimited" . This means that if the new character loses the tournament, he will be killed in the next tournament. This is a big deal, because the two new characters are at the same level as the old one. The old swordsman asks the new swordsman where his weapon is, and he says that he seems to have one, but he doesn't want to use it. He asks if the other swordsman is going to start the fight or not, and is shocked when he finds out that he will have to fight with a sword that is not his own.
