This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which Zhai tells the audience that he has awakened his psychic and is ready to fight. The flashback is interrupted by the arrival of a knock at the door, which interrupts Zhai's preparations for the fight. When he hears the knocking, he realizes that it is not a knock from Zhai, but rather a blow from another man. He realizes that the other man is trying to use his psychic power to gain an advantage, but he is unable to do so because he has lost his "psychiatric willpower" .
