About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a request from a member of the Council of the People's Republic of China to the god of war, Bai niao phoenix, to explain why he helped Ren Gao and his son escape from the five heroes. The man asks why he has to explain to the gods of war why he had to help Ren and his family escape. The war gods are supposed to report their actions to the government and the government is supposed to have the right to execute anyone who is involved in the assassination of a government official. Ren is innocent, the man says. Ren's family cannot be released because of the state's surveillance. Ren asks the war gods why he should select new spies, and the gods reply that it is not his duty to do so. Ren says that the assassination and assassination were founded at the same time, and that Ren is proud of the fact that the heroes are still loyal to him. Ren wonders why the government has not been able to control the strength of the army, and wonders why Ren has been left alone. Ren hopes that the gods will not regret his actions.
