In this chapter, we learn that the three of them are chained to their responsibilities as test-takers, and that they've lost themselves in the process. They're not strong enough to take on the responsibilities, and they're afraid that the gods are going to punish them for their actions. They feel that destiny is going to change, but they don't really know what it is. They can't believe that destiny has already changed, and now that they have lost, they feel like they'll have to find a new source of energy.
