In this chapter, we're introduced to a new character, Shmooper, who's super excited to be able to "absorb" someone. He's also super excited that he's finally going to get to do something that's been on his mind for a long time: "I finally get to absorb someone" , he exclaims . He wants to do it right away, and he wants to be the one who gets to do the "action" . We're not sure which of the two "actions" is more exciting: the battle with the "monkey" or the battle against the "dumb guy" ? We'll get to the latter later, but for now, we can just say that Shmoopers is psyched to finally get his chance to do "action." He'd been waiting for this to happen, he says, since "the little guy" asked him to meditate on the rules of the game. He hopes that, once he reaches the human realm, he'll have the ability to "sense the energy" and use his powers , which is why he was able to absorb so much energy during his battle with "the monkey" : "the higher the level / the more energy / you can absorb, and you can naturally use powerful moves," he says .
