This chapter opens with a description of the underground passageway that leads to the "underground pool" that God has once given to the molin people. The narrator explains that the underground pool is one of many passageways that the moblin people have to travel in order to reach the "final realm" . The underground pool, he says, is "safe" because the atmosphere is "suffocating" , but many of the test-takers have failed because they were unable to handle the "overwhelming pressure" of the pool
