In this scene, we learn that the battle is still raging, and that Prince Hal and his men are still on the front lines. Prince Hal asks his father why he hasn't been fighting more, and his father replies that it's because he's too old to be a war hero anymore. He also says that he has given up everything in his life in order to become the heir to the throne. He tells Prince Hal that if he wants to be like his father, he'll have to become like Prince Hal, too.
