In this chapter, we learn that Lin and the others are planning to ambush the enemy. They're going to kill a bunch of soldiers, but they're not going to be killed right away. Lin is worried that he's going to get poisoned, so he eats some food to make him feel better. He doesn't tell anyone what's wrong with him, because he thinks they'll all die. He's also worried that they won't be able to find a way to get rid of him. He suggests that they get Lin promoted to an "intermediate war hero" .
