About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's packing up and heading back to school. He's going to visit a girl named Quan Xin, who used to be very close to him in junior high school. The narrator says that this girl is very special to him. He joined a literature club when he was in seventh grade. He says that he and the girl used to read together. The girl would "bite and tear apart" the books that the two of them read together, and the narrator would explain the stories to her. She would then take the stories and tell them to the girl, and they would start to enjoy the company of each other. The two would do things together that they'd done thousands of times before, like play an arcade game or play a basketball game. They'd never get tired of them, though, because they were always doing the same thing. The book is called "Three Days to See" and it's about a guy named Helen keller. It's an autobiography about his life in the city. He tells us about the book and how he and Quan Xin became friends. They used to play the same game together, which was called "Alone on the Playground" . They didn't like it at first, but when they started to do it together, things started to get more interesting. They would do the same things over and over again, until they were bored of them all. Then they would do something new, and then they would get bored of it. They were like "Female Gorilla" and "Little Bear" respectively. They don't think they're the same person, but they are. The bear's button pops open, and he sees that the bear doesn't treat him like a boy, and that he treats the girl like a girl.
