The narrator tells us that he's made up his mind about the marriage. He's decided to leave his little brother, bai hu, hanging out with the other students at his school. He says that he still wants to have him, even if he can't, because he still thinks that he can conquer him. The narrator says that ziwu, the creator of the oriends comic, translated by lan, is living with him temporarily. They're not paying rent, but they're doing a lot of the same things. One day, he asks them to accompany him home, but the narrator is too drunk to do so, so they have to go alone. They argue about whether or not they should accompany him back home, and the narrator says he'll conquer him with his talent.
