In this chapter, we learn that the young man we met at the beginning of the story is called "Lan" and that he is a member of a band called the "Black Crows" who are playing at a bar called "The Black Crow Club" . The young man, who we now learn is named "Qin Lan," has come to meet his "first love" , "bai hu," whom he has fallen in love with at the bar. The two of them discuss the nature of love, and the two decide that they will meet in the carpentry club on Thursday at 8pm.
