The two young men discuss the fight that is about to take place between the two of them. The young men realize that the fight will not take place because the policeman is already on his way, and the young men decide that they will not let the fight go on. When they return to the village, they find that the young man has eaten some of the tea that he brought with him, and that he seems to be eating the pickled fish that they brought with them. They decide to take some more pictures before they head back to the city. The narrator explains that he is taking part in a photojournalism contest and that the assignment is to prove to his father that he loves his father very much. He says that he likes his father as well, because he is fond of him. He also says that his son is obedient because he wants to know the people of the city that his father wishes him to know. He adds that the watch his father gave him is worth half a million dollars, and he thinks that this is why he hates obedient kids like him. The two men decide to go to the university together, and when they arrive at the university, the narrator is surprised to find that he has not accepted the offer to be an external student.
