In this chapter, we learn that Lan's guitar has been smashed by someone in the yard of the bar where Lan works. Lan tries to explain that the guitar is important to him, and that his band is his friend's, but Lan is not his friend. Lan also tells Lan that he is worried about the broken monitor at the bar. Lan says that the monitor has been broken for several days, but that he has not been able to fix it. Lan tells him that he must be responsible for any problems that arise, and he asks Lan to honk the horn of his car. Lan asks if they can do anything about a broken monitor, and Lan replies that they need to run a finger print on the broken part of the monitor. Lan then asks if it is possible that the car was parked nearby. Lan wonders if there was a river nearby, and says that they can set off a fireworks display there. Lan wants to know why they chose such a remote place, and asks if there is anything wrong with Lan. Lan explains that he cannot believe that his guitar was broken, and wonders if someone had smashed it. He says that if anyone had smashed his guitar, he would get into a fight with them. Lan suggests that they find someone to teach Lan a lesson, and then they can make him happy.
