"Even if I end up broke, and it's all a bitter end" , says the narrator, "at least Ill have left a mark in the world" . He's got a drink with the other bridge guys, and he's bummed that he won't be able to go out with them tonight. He tells them to chill out and wait for him to come back tomorrow so they can rehearse some new songs. The bridge guys are psyched, but the narrator is bummed because he has to go to work early the next morning. He asks the bridge guys what they're going to wear today, and they tell him to get out of the way so he can have a drink. The narrator is all, "I'm going to look fabulous today!" . But then he sees his photographer following him everywhere, so he asks the guy why he brought a bodyguard with him. The guy says that they've got to take a car instead of a train, because there's not a direct train there. He also says that he gave the guy some money so he could pay by phone if he couldn't make it. He says that the two of them must have slept together that morning, and that they must have been sleeping in the same bed. He doesn't know what's up with that, but he does know that they seem to be in love. He gives the guy a drink, and the narrator asks if he wants to find out the truth about the lovers soon.
