The chapter opens with a discussion of the stock market. The narrator tells us that he's going to buy up all of the shares in the company and give them to Mr. Zhu. He's also going to give him a million dollars a month to support his family. Mr. zhu is all, "wait a minute, what's up with all of this?" The narrator says that he doesn't have to worry about it, because everything is going his way. He tells zhu that if he sends the photos to him, he'll be able to get rid of the company's holdings without having to pay any money back. He also says that xiwei sent a letter to him saying that he should sign a contract with a security guard at the hotel where the shares are traded. He says that the security guard is working overtime, and that's why he signed the contract with the guard. The two of them watch the screen together, and the narrator tells him that it's time for couples to get back together. He points out that he hasn't forgiven him yet, but that he still has a family to care for. He asks if he can still feed them if he dies, but the narrator says he can't, because no one will care for his family if he does. He reminds him that he promised to leave the world "decently" if he died, and he agrees to do so.
