Caixin tells the others that the family owes everything to the family of the old master, who used to exchange a book for the protection of the village back in the day. The old master's book was a classic out-of-print book, so the family's collection is priceless. He also tells Caixin that the village owes the family a favor, but that the villagers are not overly friendly to them. He says that he feels that they are setting a trap, but they are actually their prey.
