Back at the mansion, Riza tells Lockwood that she's just heard from the future, and that he's already left the house. Lockwood tries to convince Riza that the future isn't real, but she can't figure out how to get rid of him. He tells her that he has set up a solar battery that will give him a reception when he calls back in the future. He also tells her to make sure that the star in the sky is marked with a felt pen, so he won't have to explain to her that she doesn't belong to him. Lockwood says he'll meet Riza in nine years' time, and Riza agrees.
