About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the professor has called for the men, but they have been unable to find him. The monster is coming at them at a "pace of three miles an hour" , and the danger is "like a typhoon" . The men are "tagalongs" for the flanders, and if the monster attacks them, they'll be "dead meat," as the narrator puts it. The professor tells the men that the monster has already been taken care of, and that they need to "take care of" the beast more. The narrator then tells us that he's looking for the "blood warrior" from the first princess, who used to curse mermaids. He's also looking for "the wizard" who made the deal with the mermaid regarding her legs, and he says he'll kill him if the master of the beast is his.
