In this chapter, the narrator continues his tale of unrequited love. He tells us that he has been "fucked" by his childhood friend, who has "obtained something" that he "wanted the most" . The narrator then tells us about how his friend, Ayase, has been in "good shape lately" , and how he's been able to "obtain something" from "click takanashi" because "she was a rumor" that she was "a slut." The narrator wonders what makes Ayase like her, and he wonders if she treats him like her "accessory or a status." He decides that Ayase is a "nice guy" and that he'll "take responsibility bility" and "go out" with her anyway. He's a nice guy, he says, but she's not the kind of person he'd want to hang out with. He wants to root for Ayase because he knows that he can't "steal his heart," but he decides that it's "too painful" for him to do so. He asks the narrator to tell him what's up, and the narrator tells him that she'll have to wait until he tells her. She says that she took the room in the far end so she couldn't leave even if she wanted to, and that she saw Ayase staring at her boobs "the whole no ! . . you didn't!" . She also says that when Ayase gave her the document, she gave him sweets she brought him, smiling "like an idiot" ! The narrator says that he saw how jealous Ayase was
