In this chapter, Tommo describes how he and his friends were envious of Takeshi's ability to "dodge" players and strike them where they hurt the most. Tommo admits that he had always wanted to be a professional soccer player, but he had never been able to get close enough to take up the sport. Now, he says, he thinks that Takeshi is "lofting it up to the free goto" . He thinks that if he were to become a head coach, he would make a "hell of a team" because he knows how to use the game to his advantage. The chapter ends with Tommo saying that two years have passed since he left his job as an assistant coach on the Yokohama team and that he is now the head coach of the first division team.
