The narrator tells the story of how her boyfriend, shindo, fell out of favor with his father, who ran off with another woman. The narrator explains that he was a member of the student council at the school where shindo was a student. He was the captain of the school's soccer team and the president of the council. He had told the narrator that he wanted to become a teacher someday, but he had quit school when he found out that his father had run off with someone else. He tells the narrator to hang in there, because he knows that she will be all right.
