In the second half of the match, Etsuko and Tosuko continue to argue about whether or not they should challenge the other team to a duel. The two argue over whether the ref's call was harsh enough, and whether the match will be decided on the merits of the challenge or on the merit of the referee's decision. The ref, they argue, is a cruel man, and he should not be allowed to judge the match on the basis of his own judgment. The match will decide on who is the better team.
