In the second half of the first half, the players are still trying to figure out what to do with each other. When the first goal is scored, they feel like they've won the game, but they're still not sure if they can hold onto it. They're not sure how to stop the attackers, so they'll have to attack. When they get to the halfway point, however, they realize that they still have a ways to go.
