About This Chapter
The manager of a Japanese pro team, Tatsu Mi, and his friend, the pr representative of the club, discuss the disappearance of their former star player, tatsumi, and the town's refusal to allow him to return. Mi says that his friend's friend is giving him the stink eye, and that he should not blame her when he fails. Mi tells the story of how, when he was a young player, he used to watch the practice matches with the old coach, and how the coach would say the same things over and over again. He says that the coach is dead set on paying him off and that the club has been looking for a new coach. The coach of the English team, Barto van site, has not yet been dismissed, Mi says, and he believes that only the coach can save the club. Mi thinks that Barto has stolen the ball from the other team's goal, and Mi tells him to keep up the attack and make the coach miss. He thinks that if the team keeps up the momentum, he will be able to keep the one point difference between the two clubs.
