He wanted to become a doctor so that he could repay his family and doctors, but his illness kept getting worse. Eventually, he needed a second heart-lung transplant, but he died on the list. His parents thanked the narrator for his help, and he hid the note book in his desk. The narrator says that he still feels lonely because of the pain he feels in his heart. He says he wants to die now, but that he needs to go back to school. He wants to be alone in his own thoughts. He writes that he doesn't need to have surgery, and that he just needs to deal with his illness. He tells the narrator that he will be traveling to the U.S. the next day, and the narrator says she is happy that she has been put up with dealing with this for so long. She says that she is not telling her this, but to say that she still has a lot to live for, and in time, she'll see. She tells him that she will wash his name tag for him.
