In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the fool. He is a young man who has just returned from a trip with his friends. The group is riding in a car, and they are being chased by a group of men who have been riding on the wrong side of the road. The men are tailing them, and the fool is afraid that they are going to kill him and his friends if they do not stop. He tries to get the men to stop, but they are too afraid to do so. He tells them that he is in the middle of a dream, and that he has become the master of the group. He asks the men if they have seen the book from which he dreamed, but the men are unable to answer him. He then asks them if they know anyone who can give him a hand. They respond by saying that they do, and he asks them to show him someone who can do so
