About This Chapter
When the police arrive, they find a lump on Agawa's head and Kagawa still in shock. The police officer tells them that he doesn't know what happened to either of them when they were younger, but Agawa tells him that she thinks he's brave. Agawa and the police leave, and Agawa asks what the police officer told them. The officer tells her that he didn't want to tell them because he was afraid of what they might think of him. He's also afraid that they'd think he was a bad influence on his younger self. So Agawa decides to tell the police everything she knows about the incident. She tells them about how she zapped Kagawa and nakagawa with the spirit of horus, which she says is like a drone that can send off a recording of anything. She also tells them how one day, they were attacked by five thugs and struck by lightning. They were killed. Now she's the shinto priestess, a goddess of the underworld. The narrator tells us that everything is just too much for human beings to comprehend. He says that there's no way to know what's going on without knowing what it is. He adds that he could've saved everyone if he wanted to, but that sometimes luck just isn't on his side. He tells the girls that he'll give them a hug and a kiss when he gets back from the hospital.
