About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a soliloquy by a young man who has just arrived at the bar. He tells the young man that the bar is a "dump" and that it would be a good idea for him to go back to his apartment and rest. The young man tells the man that he is tired of hanging out with his friends and that he should give up drinking and smoking. The man tells him that he has a "wild side" , and the man says that he will learn to control his temper if he does not stop smoking and drinking. He also says that they have come to say their good-byes to him and to Yuka. He gives Yuka a necklace with strands of his hair, which he encases in a crystal pendant. He says that his hair is "packed with spiritual energy" . He asks Yuka to take care of herself, and she says that she will do so. He then asks her to put his prayers into his hair. She says that her hair is full of spiritual energy, and that her prayers will be put into it as well
