He wants to make sure they're having a good time, since he thinks it'll be nice to be alone together. He's also worried that there won't be enough people around to make up for the fact that there aren't going to be as many people in the park as he'd like. The narrator says he'll pick up the girl at her place and go out for a walk. He doesn't want to go to the park alone, since there will be so many people there, but he does want to take the opportunity to show off his new found love for the girl. He tells her that he forgot to bring her the due date for a trip to the theater, so he can't get there on time. He goes on to say that the park is full of couples, and that they don't have enough time to do their daily routine there. He also says that the girl's dress is different today, because she has a cherry blossom on her skirt. He says he was surprised that she could see it, because it was so tiny. He adds that it's springtime, and he just feels like it.
