The night before the mysterious culture festival, Tsubaki calls on Hiroshikawa and asks him to come to his house. He tells him that he has a bruise on his arm from a fight he had with a guy he was in love with. He also tells her that the guy dumped her, but that he showed up the day before to try and get back together with her. She asks him if he can come to the festival the next day. He says that he will pretend to be her boyfriend for one day and he promises to be there. He then asks if he is doing any other thing this upcoming Sunday. This Sunday, he says, he is going with Leno to go shopping downtown. He asks if she knows about the festival, and she says that she did not know about it. She then says that Leno said that he was going shopping with Ueno on Sunday. She guesses that either he was mistaken or else he was lying.
