The narrator tells the girl that he used to have a crush on her in middle school, and that he carried the picture in his wallet. The girl, however, has changed, and now he wants to take a picture with her. He tells her that if he had stood her up and taken her to a cafe, he would not have gotten mad, but that he would have been sad. He says that he thinks it is pointless to smile for a picture, but it is still a photo of himself, so it is fine. He takes the picture and puts it in his pocket.
