In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters who have been introduced in previous chapters. The first is a young man named Nemo, who has just returned from a trip to the Galapagos Islands. Nemo explains that he has come to see a friend of his, a woman named Mariana, who is also a young woman. Mariana is a beautiful woman, and she has a crush on Nemo. Nemo asks Mariana to have a drink with him, but Mariana refuses, saying that she doesn't want to have anything to do with him. Nemo then asks Mariana if she has ever been in love with him before, and Mariana says that she has, but that she's not sure if it was true or not. Nemo tells Mariana that he's going to have sex with her that very night, but she won't let him have it, because she'll have to go to bed that night.
