This chapter opens with a flashback to Lin's time in prison, when Lin was the strongest man in the company. He was able to escape from prison and learn survival skills from his fellow prisoners. The flashback reveals that Lin is back in prison and that he is planning to go back to the prison in Lanxiang to learn how to survive. He tells zhongyu, the boss, that he has planned everything out and that there are no escapees. The boss tells him that they have a new car and that they are going to use it to get away from the police station. Lin is happy to hear that his wife is pregnant. He says that he will not thank the boss for giving him his freedom. He also tells the boss that he still wants to ask for help from his old man, but that he must return home to do what he thinks is right. He adds that if he finds out that the boss is letting his wife down, he will come to kill him.
