The narrator laments the fact that he has not been able to communicate well with the others since his first meeting with the captain. He feels that the captain has grown up without his sketch book, and that he is now able to converse with others. He is glad that she has learned to communicate, but he cannot believe that she did not know how to react to his first kiss. He wonders if he has a chance to kiss her, and wonders if she has gone out with another man. He asks the captain if there is any plan for the day, and the captain replies that he does not have any plans. The narrator asks if he can come to his house today, but the captain says that he did not want to come in because he has his "furu hata" , which is a police drama, and he wants to keep them. The captain tells him that he was eating a meal when he got the urge to watch the second episode of Furuata, which he had rented and watched the rest of the series. He tells the captain that it is too late for him to realize the greatness of a drama, as he had done in the classroom. He says that withat was not what he thought, but that she "kind of did it" to him
