The narrator is nervous about asking her out on the field trip because he has a set date and he doesn't know how he'll react. He also tells us about the festival that's going to be held in his class's honor. He's not sure what to make of it, since it's a "cultural festival" and he's never heard of an "after party" before. He says that his class threw an after party for the festival last year, and everyone was so impressed that they wanted to throw one for him this year. He then tells us how he got into a fight with one of his classmates who said that he looked like he was going to "come on to night" . This makes the narrator even more nervous.
