In the midst of a snowstorm, Aoshima laments that he has been dismissed as captain of the school's women's volleyball team. He tells his wife, Wagatsuma, that he hasn't yet been fired, but that if he doesn't find 12 new members, he'll be fired. He's not the only one who lost his job, he says, and he's the one who has to find the new members. He also says that he'd rather not re-sign with the school, since he'm not happy with the way things are going. He wonders if he should go out with his new girlfriend, but she won't let him. He tries to convince her to go with him to practice, but he can't convince her.
