Ten years have passed. Aoshima is married to a girl in his class, Wagatsuma, and they have a daughter, Itou-san, whom they call "wagatsuma," or "the girl of the future." The narrator weeps as he reflects on the past ten years. He feels guilty for rejecting the boys he used to be friends with in high school. He is surprised to learn that a character named Toshi-Oshima appears in her comic and saves the heroine.
