The chapter opens with Hiroyuki's declaration that he is in love with a girl named Aoshima. He tells his friend that if he knows her and herself, he will not fear a battle. He also tells Aojima that he will do his best in school. He then tells Hiroyuki that he has raised a little gate for his sister. He says that his crossing gate was raised for her sake, and that he must nip the whole thing in the bud before it is too late. He explains that he gave the gate to the girl to use as a gate of flesh, but that it is not a dual gate, as he thinks it is. He thinks that the girl will be able to beat him in two years, and he is glad that he forced himself to do so for so long. He wants to become a professional soccer player, but he will never make it. The girl asks him if his brother is doing all right, and Hiroyuki tells her that he does not know.
