The narrator tells us that he has decided to accept Cai Ming's explanation that he was going to leave Cai Ming after they had a sexual encounter. He says that sometimes he really wants to kill Cai Ming and commit suicide for his love. Cai Ming tells him that it was his plan at first, but that he is not smart enough to figure out what was troubling him in his heart. The narrator says that he does not know what Cai Ming is troubled with, but he does know that she is so active that she no longer cares for things like kinship. He tells Cai Ming that he will be with him whether Cai Ming will let Cai Ming go or not. He promises to write to Cai Ming if he needs his help.
