About This Chapter
Okay, now I'm happy, too. It's been a long time since I've been happy. I wish I could be your wife. Is she hungry? What's wrong? She's not hungry, but she's thirsty. She asks if they can go back to the palace to have some snacks. The answer is yes. The prince has set out from the city. He wants all of the relief materials from the south pavilion gate to remain intact. The princess thinks it's ridiculous that the prince would want to leave all of this stuff behind in the deepest parts of the city, but the truth is that the lowest-quality grain is enough for them. They bound the wagons to remove the ruts on the beams. The king says he'll accept the princess's sincere gifts. He's going to take tea for her. He thanks her for all of her hard work. She thanks him for everything he's done for her over the years. He says that any little accomplishment or progress he has made is not the gift of god, but of him. She says that she has come to owe him a lot. She also says that throughout these years, she has been living without money, but that she devoted herself to being with her. Now, she says, she needs to go out on her own. She has imagined how her life would be if she hadn't been with him.
