Back at the palace, Yung-ye says that he's sorry that he offended you when they were younger. He hopes that you'll forgive him and that they can have a drink together. He's just been talking to yimo about a banquet. Yung asks what's up with the canal, and yimo says that his mother has said that he hasn't received a gift from his father to congratulate him on his new title yet. He wants to know if his father has prepared any gifts for him, or if he'll accept them if he doesn't like them. He says that now that the two of them are going to be trading, the waterway won't have to be guarded, and the people will be able to use it as a shortcut to the city. He also tells yung-yung that he found a medicinal herb that can cure a heart problem, and that his heart is beating fast because of it. He asks yung to go with him to fetch his father.
