The next morning, Mina and the rest of the guards go to the Chief's quarters to report on the progress of the battle. They find that the battle is going well and that the enemy has been defeated. Mina wonders why the police have not been more aggressive in the fight. She wonders if they are afraid of what the battle will bring. The Chief, however, is not concerned about Mina's safety. He is concerned about the safety of the other soldiers, who have been injured in the battle
