In this chapter, we learn that Dr. Barlow is out of town. He's been working on the anti-demon project, which is supposed to help rid the world of evil spirits. He tells us that he's heard that the Senate has been trying to figure out a way to stop the project, but that he doesn't think it's a good idea. He says that the only thing they can do is to banish the seven evil spirits from the world. He also says that if they do, they'll die, which means that they won't be able to do anything to stop it. The only thing he can do, he says, is to tune on all seven of the evil spirits and banish them. He asks Dr Barlow if there's any way he can help him, but he says that he can't, because he'll have to ally with the other evil spirits in order to do so. He then asks Barlow if he can show him what's going on, and he says he can. Barlow says he'd like to show him, too, but then he sees that the other demons are trying to stop him. He grabs Barlow by the throat and tells him to stay quiet, but Barlow says that's not what he should do, because they're all trying to kill him. Barlow tells Barlow that he needs to prepare for the next time he has to fight a demon.
