About This Chapter
The narrator wishes upon a star that responds to his prayers and with his body catches the star's attention. He asks the star if he went to a meeting, and the star responds that he did. The narrator tells the star that things are going well in town, and he asks the boop if they were talking about whether a target was a demon or a human. The boop replies that it was more like he was becoming father, like his father was becoming son. He tells the narrator that he is a half demon hunter and that he wants to know if he is all right. The ghost tells him to be careful, because he is messing around. He wants to pull the ghost back over to the other side of the room, but the ghost says that the walls are too high for him. He tries to stop the ghost, but he is interrupted by the sound of tapping taps. He wonders if the ghost has seen his face at all. He says that he has not yet seen the ghost's face, even though he is bringing one of them to the meeting. He then asks the ghost why he went so far for the girl, and she says that she is not a half-demon. He apologizes to the ghost for being cold to her, and apologizes that he will become an old woman by the time he is done with the trick. He admits that he would have liked the trick if he had liked it when they were children, but that he does not resent the ghost one bit.
