In this second part of the story, the Hiizumi clan reveals that they are descended from the Tree of Knowledge, the same tree that gave birth to the world's first human beings. They were the first people in the world to use their blades to slay demons, and they were also the first to use the word "tuner" to describe the supernatural powers that they possessed. The branch family, which was the first family to use blades, became the head family, and the branch family became the second. The head family was able to use its blades to kill demons, whereas the branches were able to do the same. The hiizumi family asks the god why he does not grant gifts to both families. The god replies that he will not grant a gift to one side unless the other side is willing to give it to him. The two men discuss the possibility of the hiiziz's returning to his family.
